Our long established Business, Humanities and IT department offers a range of courses to suit your needs.

eBusiness:

This one year course is an ideal entry level qualification for all aspects of the growing eBusiness and Technology sector in Ireland. The course will enable students to learn now to utilise technologies such as the internet, eBusiness, computer applications, web authoring as well as covering general business subjects such as marketing and bookkeeping to further their career.

 

Business Studies with Accounting:

This one year course is designed to provide an excellent foundation for students wishing to advance to Business Degree Programmes in Third Level Institutes of Technology or Universities. Modules such as accounting, economics, mathematics and business administration are core to this course and will give students who do gain a place on a degree programme a distinct advantage. This course also provides learners wishing to directly enter employment the knowledge and key skills to do so.

 

Office Administration (Reception):

This one year business course is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in administration and reception. Opportunities arise in a wide variety of different office environments including legal, medical, civil service, commercial and educational. Modules such as text production, bookkeeping, payroll and office administration provide graduates with essential skills required by busy office environments. This course also provides an excellent foundation for those wishing to pursue Degree programmes in Institutes of Technology and Universities or for those who wish progress onto DIFE’s Level 6 Business programme.

 

Accounting Technician:

This two year Accounting Technician course is certified by Accounting Technician’s Ireland the leading professional body for Accounting Technicians in this country. This qualification allows graduates work alongside qualified accountants in business, industry, private practice and public services. This is a highly regarded qualification that greatly enhances employability and career prospects. Graduates may choose to pursue further studies to qualify as professional accountants or registered auditors.

 

Pre-University Arts:

This course is designed for students wishing to study Arts at Third Level. It introduces students to the methods of study, writing and research skills necessary for successful participation at Third Level and allows students to apply to these courses through a route other than directly from Leaving Certificate.

 

Computer Information Systems:

This course is designed to give participants experience of a broad range of computing and information technologies, and to prepare them for employment or further study in those fields.

 

Computer Systems and Networks:

This course is designed to give par­tic­i­pants the core skills requiredin the com­puter sci­ence indus­try and to pre­pare stu­dents for careers demand­ing spe­cial­ist knowl­edge of pro­gram­ming, net­work­ing imple­men­ta­tion and web technology.

 

Business with Advanced Information Technology (Level 6):

This programme offers students a QQI level 6 qualification in Business. On completion of the course students have the option of progressing directly into employment or applying to progress to Year 2 of a Business Studies Degree in DKIT through the NEFHEA Higher Links Scheme.

 

Pre-University Law:

The purpose of this course is to give a solid introduction to Law for students wishing to pursue a Law Degree in Universitites both here in Ireland and abroad.  The qualification also gives students the opoortunity to progress to Arts Degrees and a range of other programmes in Universities and Institutes of Technology.
